236 Ninth Avenue
Living in Paris for many years, I would go from one end of the city to the other searching for delicious bread. And I often found it. In many forms. I love to do the same in NYC. With Sullivan Street bakery, I keep “dating” other bakeries (like esteemed and delicious Balthazar and Amy’s Bread) and coming back to this sourdough. The bread, when I butter a thick slice and chew, gets caught in my back molars in the most memorable way, with a great mix of sourness, charred crust and great “crumb”. I am a sucker every time. I go to the one on Ninth Avenue because it’s easy and casual. I like the Ciabatta a lot.
