Bagels with Cream Cheese and Salmon Roe

My daughter has a serious addiction to this and it’s the affordable version of caviar. Salmon roe (eggs) or Trout roe is a fraction of the price for classic caviar. They are salty, juicy eggs that sit so beautifully atop a bagel with cream cheese. You can add a few grate lemon zest or chives on top if you like…Plain bagels are great but an onion, poppy or sesame can be just as nice if you want extra texture and flavor…Don’t like dill? Sub in chives…

Ingredients

4 bagels, split and toasted

8-12 ounces full fat cream cheese

4 ounces salmon or trout roe

2-3 sprigs fresh dill, stemmed

Instructions

Assemble: Spread the toasted bagel halves on a flat surface and spread with an even layer of the cream cheese. Sprinkle the salmon roe over the cream cheese. Top with dill.
